Cast Change in 'Waiting for Godot'
Thom Gibbons has, sadly, had to withdraw from the cast of 'Waiting for Godot'. Last weekend, he sustained a serious back injury which will incapacitate him for up to six weeks. The part of Lucky is physically demanding and he had little choice but to withdraw. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The Company is very pleased that Nick Lund has stepped into the breach and will be joining the rest of the cast this coming weekend to begin rehearsals as Lucky. Nick played Wilfred Owen in our last production, 'Not About Heroes'.

'Not About Heroes' Finishes Run
After seven performances at both Riverhouse and Cranleigh Arts Centre, 'Not About Heroes' finished its run last week. Of particular relevance were the two performances given on Armistice Day.
The production has been very well received and the performances of David Webb as Siegfried Sassoon and Nick Lund as Wilfred Owen, highly praised. Reviews by Jeff Thomson and Roger Moody, together with a collection of comments from our audiences may be read on the 'Past Productions' page.
All four evening performances at both venues played to full houses and the three matinees were also very well attended attracting school parties from as far afield as Worcester and Bedfordshire. At Riverhouse, a workshop centred on the production was held for a group of students from Thamesmead School, Shepperton.

'Waiting For Godot' for July 2010
After several months of negotiations, Lighted Fools Theatre Company has finally been granted permission by Samuel Beckett's agent to present 'Waiting for Godot' at the Riverhouse, Walton-on-Thames from 21st to 24th July 2010. The play will be directed by Karen Sahlsberg, who played Shirley Valentine to great acclaim this past summer. This will be Karen's second production for the Company, having directed 'The Dresser' in 2008.
The strong cast will be led by David Webb as Vladimir and Richard Parish as Estragon. Pozzo will be played by Gary Griffiths, Lucky by Thom Gibbons and the Boy by Max Usher.
Gary Griffiths has worked for some years with companies in the Woking and Guildford area but this will be his first appearance with Lighted Fools. Thom Gibbons makes a welcome return to the Company having last appeared seven years ago as Ray Dooley in the 2002 production of 'The Beauty Queen of Leenane'. Young Max Usher will also be making his first appearance with Lighted Fools.
Karen has a number of innovative ideas for 'Godot' which promises to be an exciting project.
